Spotlight on Journei Ferguson

This summer, we had the joy of hosting Journei, an Obama-Chesky Voyager Scholar, at Angaza Center!

From day one, Journei dove into our mission of bridging the digital divide in rural African schools. Together, we traveled to schools where ICT labs are transforming classrooms, equipping teachers and learners with laptops, training, and digital resources. Journei got to hear firsthand how access to technology is opening doors to confidence, opportunity, and brighter futures.

Beyond the work, Journei also immersed herself in Kenya’s beauty from the peaceful plains of the Masai Mara, Giraffe Center to a brief adventure across the border into Tanzania.

We’re deeply grateful to Journei for her energy, passion, and warmth. To us, she wasn’t just an intern, she became part of the Angaza family. 💙
